What we do

Capital Ambition is London's Improvement and Efficiency Partnership.

Over the three-year period 2008-11 we are managing approximately £36 million of central government funding to support London's authorities and local strategic partnerships to deliver efficiencies, improve performance, and support innovative ways of working.

We drive the delivery of significant efficiencies by helping authorities join up services and explore new commercial techniques, improving the management of London’s £9 billion supply chain of support services.

We champion innovative ways to improve the resilience of London to future major risks, such as climate change and worklesssness.

We also work with partners to improve public services in London by analysing performance across the capital.

We provide individual support packages to authorities in need of assistance and have a comprehensive engagement strategy with each London local authority to challenge present performance.

We improve recruitment and development of members and senior managers; provide training and information events to enhance skills and knowledge, and promote greater sharing of best practice and networking.
