Collaborative working is a proven way of finding more cashable savings. However, it is important to have good quality, easily accessible and accurate third-party expenditure information, which can be compared with others on a like-for-like basis.
For the last two years ProClass has been used to enable the London Boroughs to carry out a comprehensive Expenditure Analysis exercise and find new areas for joint contracting, inform our Supplier Relationship Development projects and build accurate business cases.
We have achieved a successful 94% mapping to High and Medium confidence and now have one of the most powerful expenditure databases in the UK public sector. ProClass is still evolving, and people can suggest new ideas or amendments on a forum set up on the website.
There is also a free mapping service where ProClass is cross referenced to coding systems such as UNSPSC, CPV, e-class and non structured lists such as Thompson. Visit the ProClass website and click on the 'ProClass Mapping link on the left.
