Events in 2011
A workshop on 'Buying energy and managing the CRC' was held on July 21st 2011. In the morning session, LASER and Government Procurement Service gave presentations on the energy market, factors affecting prices, risk options and products available. The afternoon was devoted to CRC and after hearing about updates to the Scheme, delegates had the opportunity to discuss CRC issues.
Events in 2010
LEP held a 'Making your meters work' event Opens in a new window on July 5th 2010. Delegates were able to hear directly from LASER and Buying Solutions about the AMR solutions that were available to them, through the AMR and energy supply frameworks, and listen to case studies from 3 London authorities on AMR, demand management and meter management.
Another CRC update event, ‘CRC - Making the Scheme Work event - 5 November 2010, was held on 5th November 2010, to provide delegates with key updates on the utilities sector and public sector organisations following the 2010 Comprehensive Spending Review, and the impacts of the CSR on the CRC. Delegates were also introduced to the new LEP CRC guidance and support tools.
Events in 2009
A bureaus, billing and e-issues workshop was held on 21st January to enable councils to consider the efficiencies and savings that could be achieved through improving and automating bill validation and payment processes and the services offered by energy bureaus.
LEP, together with Buying Solutions, held a bureau services workshop on 23rd April, to identify savings and efficiencies that could e achieved by adopting bureau style services, whether outsourced or delivered internally. This included the specification of common contract clauses, service levels and standard reports that would be beneficial and add value to energy management and administration.
A CRC workshop was held on 17th June, to provide a real-life practitioners' view of the CRC, the challenges and potential costs councils will face in its implementation and its broader environmental and financial impacts. We followed this with a CRC update event on 16th December to provide further guidance on the Scheme and share information on policy issues and the practical activities involved in implementation.
