The analysis of the Energy Procurement Action Plan Opens in a new window self assessment returns indicated that a number of authorities would be interested in extending and sharing their knowledge of automatic meter reading (AMR).
To this end, an AMR workshop was held on July 17th 2007 in central London. The event was attended by representatives of 21 authorities from London and the South East including London boroughs, the GLA and the London Fire and Emergency Planning Authority.
The event provided authorities with:
- the opportunity to learn about AMR technology
- an example business case for AMR
- case studies from organisations who are implementing AMR
- the results of the Carbon Trust field trial
There was also an open forum session covering user requirements and how the project can best support authorities wishing to implement AMR in the future.
