EPPM training and development material

The training and development element of EPPM aimed to:

• Raise awareness and understanding of programme management among relevant staff in London and regional authorities
• Provide programme managers within the public sector with the tools to deliver their programmes
• Create and introduce 'Champions' who will act as custodians or programme management within their respective organisation

The training package comprised the following courses:

Executive Briefing (Presentation): Opens in a new window  This presentation is aimed at senior managers who are likely to be an SRO or a member of a programme board – i.e. directors and assistant directors. It explains how programme management can help with transformational change and is a useful tool to demonstrate the linkage between their responsibilities as senior managers (directing change) and programme management as a structure that can help them.  To be delivered inconjunction with the SRO Guide – “Leading Successful Programmes”. PSPMA Overview Course Opens in a new window: A one-day programme management course that covered the PSPMA.  It provided programme management personnel with an overview on undertaking a programme management role and gave tips and advice on how to apply aspects of the PSPMA to their programme. 

 PSPMA Opens in a new windowAdvanced Opens in a new window Course Opens in a new window: A one-day course that covered the PSPMA in more detail on a practical level.  It looked into the most challenging aspects of programme management and delivery by focussing attention on planning and controlling your programme as well as benefit realisation. 

PSPMA Champion Training: A one-day course which, along with the overview and advance courses, enabled nominated individuals to become ‘the expert’ in the PSPMA for their organisation, such that they are able to assist others within that organisation to learn and successfully apply the framework.
