London Heads of Procurement network

At the meeting of the Heads of Procurement Network on 8th October 2009, it was agreed that proposals be brought forward to develop the business plan/funding model for the London Contracts and Supplies Group (LCSG) or its equivalent. However, the proposed governance arrangements set out in the Future of London Procurement document imply a fully integrated approach to the development of an overarching pan-London business plan developed by the London Heads of Procurement Group, informed by the London Procurement Strategy and encompassing the interests of all procurement stakeholder groups.

The Network is supported by Capital Ambition and chaired by Sally Leigh, Head of Commissioning and Partnership Strategy, Corporate Procurement, London Borough of Lambeth.

The Future of London Procurement paper concentrates on outlining a future governance structure and accompanying arrangements for the future that will be more transparent and acceptable to all, thereby fostering a more joined up approach across London. It is considered fundamentally important to agree and establish these matters prior to compiling a detailed individual business plan for a particular group since the work of the London Heads of Procurement Group (LHOPG), sub-regional groups and the LCSG will be inextricably linked.
