Download the Capital Ambition Annual Report 2009/10 Opens in a new windowThis is the second annual report from Capital Ambition. It reflects the achievements of the second year of Capital Ambition’s four year strategy to support, develop and promote substantial improvements in London local government’s delivery of services and value for money, and highlights examples of some of the key projects and programmes that are delivering results for London today and for the future and highlights some of our notable achievements to date.
Analysis of Capital Ambition’s work to date, undertaken by the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA), estimates that our programme is on course to deliver efficiency savings of up to £638 million by 2014/15 - with £391 million of this amount specifically validated by CIPFA already.
This report The report also sets out our strategic approach to supporting London local government by establishing the necessary foundation stones upon which future successes can be achieved. These include: the setting up of effective and robust London performance benchmarking tools; enabling the smarter procurement of goods and services; developing new models for the delivery of public services that reflect both customer needs and the future financial climate; maximising the opportunities for cost effective digital solutions and joined-up services; and shaping London’s future workforce to ensure we have the right people, in the right places, with the right skills to meet the future challenges our public services will face.
As we move into the third year of our delivery strategy we are continuing to hone our work programme to maximise its contribution to future improvement and efficiencies across the capital.
