Cllr Mike Freer - health and adult services portfolio
Cllr Mike Freer is currently Leader of Barnet council and Cabinet Member for Resources. He has represented Finchley Church End ward as a local councillor since winning a by-election in 2001.
Cllr Freer previously worked as a relationship director for Barclays Bank plc and has held numerous positions within the world of banking and finance, including running his own financial service business. He is currently a self-employed consultant advising on sustainable energy.
He has also been involved in numerous volunteering and community projects which include being treasurer of the Barnet Tsunami Appeal, chairman of Barnet Multi-faith forum and a non-executive director of St Matthews Housing Association, which provides social rented accommodation to adults with learning disabilities.
Cllr Freer lives in Finchley and is a keen cyclist. He is a member of Friends of Windsor Open Space, Conservative Friends of Israel, Conservative Friends of Cyprus and is also a Friend of British Asian Conservative link.
