Older People's Services: Business Process Mapping Exercises
London Councils is inviting tenders to work with up to eight joint working partnerships to map their current and proposed business processes for provision of advice and access to benefits by older people.
Joint working partnerships (joint teams) are partnerships resourced by London Boroughs and The Pension Service, to visit older people to gather evidence of their entitlement to a range of benefits and services.
These partnerships generated an estimated £1 million per borough in additional benefits for older people in 2007/08.
The Older People's Services project will build on these successes, showing joint working partnerships can promote efficiencies and increase access by identifying further improvements.
Up to eight joint working partnerships will assess the efficiencies to be gained from an integrated assessment, visiting and delivery of benefits, fees, charges and services (including community care and supporting people) for vulnerable older people. Using a business process improvement model, the scheme will engage borough and Department for Work and Pensions staff to assess opportunities for combined systems and shared information, providing analysis of performance and delivery to older people.
Full details on how to tender can be found in the invitation to tender brief available below. The deadline is noon on Friday 4th July 2008. Also available below is a racial equality questionnaire which will need to be completed and returned to us with the tender. A copy of London Councils' equal opportunities policy and a draft standard contract are also available for your information.
Please note that short-listed contractors will be invited to London Councils on 15th July 2008 to give presentations.
