Taxicard
Every year, some 80,000 Londoners with mobility problems travel in licensed taxis and Private Hire Vehicles at a reduced cost, using the Taxicard scheme.
Taxicard ensures that people who find it difficult to use tubes, buses and trains can still get out and about, travelling when and where they want, and allowing them much greater independence.
Over 1.4 million trips were taken in 2007/08. Taxicard is jointly funded by the London boroughs and the Mayor of London.
The scheme is administered by London Councils and thirty two London boroughs are part of this scheme.
